Description
Concealed Carry and Low Light Skills will present a defensive-focused curriculum to better equip responsible citizens with the tools they might need should they be forced to employ their concealed handguns in low-light situations. The training will begin with a refresher on foundational skills within a defensive perspective. We will refine the student's concealed draw, discuss the balance of speed and accuracy, and offer a perspective on how that speed affords one processing power in high-stress scenarios. The class will progress through several diagnostic drills and evaluations to offer the students an honest understanding of where they are as shooters.
On the evening of the first day, we will discuss low light tools, techniques, and considerations, using the late evening to allow students to get repetitions on those techniques before we conduct several scenarios in near-dark situations to pressure test the techniques on which the students have been instructed. The scenarios will cover several facets of low light incidents that will test your equipment, your shooting, observational skills and decision-making, and mindset issues that can create legal and ethical conflicts in self-defense situations.
The second day will begin with student discussions regarding the previous night’s scenarios and how low light affects our information-gathering and decision-making paradigms. The second day of training will continue with shooting skill drills with an immediate application drill to follow up on the practical use of the skills learned.
