As we kick off 2026 training this weekend with Defensive Carbine I, followed by Defensive Carbine II next weekend, this is a reminder worth revisiting. 👉🏻What you’re looking at: A .300 Blackout round fired in a .223/5.56 rifle from a previous Green Ops Defensive Carbine I class —despite multiple safety briefs to NOT pick up ammo off the ground and verify what you’re loading, a 300BO round made its way into a 5.56 gun. The outcome: • Case failure • Pressure vented through the magazine • Magazine destroyed • Zero injuries • The .30 cal projectile reshaped and partially traveled down the barrel Luck is not a safety plan.
