LE Micro Red Dot Sight (MRDS) Instructor Course

Prerequisites: Must be ONE of the following:
- Completed at least a 40 hour instructor course
- Current LE Certified Firearms Instructors
- Current POST certified LE firearms instructor
- Current Law Enforcement
Description
This in-depth, comprehensive training course is designed to provide Instructors with the necessary skills to properly teach transitional training from standard pistol iron sights to MRDS for self-defense and duty use. Training will include drills addressing common concerns associated with the use of MRDS on duty pistols and misconceptions that often accompany them. Individuals will also improve on skills and knowledge to successfully negotiate around obstacles and shoot on the move. Each instructor will leave this course with better understanding of their own skill sets, and the ability to diagnose common issues in themselves and others. This course will also focus on fundamentals and capabilities of MRDS and to learn the proper techniques for red-dot acquisition under various conditions and circumstances. This course is taught by Modern Samurai Project endorsed instructors

Strong Hand Only and Support Hand Only Shooting and Manipulations
Using a MRDS around cover and concealment
Shooting on the move
Low Light/No Light Considerations with a MRDS
Advanced drills for improving skills
Lesson plan building for continued training/practice
Equipment Needed
Serviceable semi-automatic pistol (9mm or larger caliber) with a pistol MRDS.
Strong-side OWB or appendix Concealment holster & Magazine pouch
Serpa holsters or similar holsters that use the trigger finger to deactivate a retention device are NOT allowed
Be able to retain 2 magazines on your body
3-5 magazines of 10 round capacity (minimum)
1500 rounds of dependable ammunition (minimum).
Knee pads (optional)
Water for hydration
Eye protection, hearing protection (electronic recommended) and baseball cap.
